Feeling like you need to earn a mother's love is something no one should have to experience. Feeling like a disappointment in their eyes, Like you aren't good enough to be called her child, Is soul-shattering. Double-checking your every feature, Spending almost an hour every morning getting dressed Just so she can look at you with approval, Is nerve-wracking. Having to repeat "I love you" two or three times in a row Until she says it back Is discouraging. Dwelling endlessly on the fact that you weren't planned, Just an accident, every day, Just hurts.
